Irrigation Maintenance Technician

Help Keep Our Community's Sporting Fields Performing at Their Best

Project Irrigation is seeking an experienced and motivated Irrigation Maintenance Technician to join our team servicing sports fields, parks, and recreational facilities throughout the Moreton Bay Regional Council area.

This role is ideal for an irrigation professional who enjoys troubleshooting, auditing, preventative maintenance, and system optimisation rather than large-scale installation projects. You'll play a key role in ensuring community sporting facilities remain safe, healthy, and operating efficiently year-round.

About the Role

Working independently and as part of a supportive team, you will be responsible for inspecting, auditing, maintaining, and repairing automated irrigation systems across a range of sporting and recreational facilities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting irrigation audits and performance assessments

  • Diagnosing and repairing irrigation system faults

  • Routine preventative maintenance of controllers, valves, pumps, and sprinklers

  • Monitoring system performance and water efficiency

  • Preparing maintenance reports and recommendations

  • Liaising with clients and stakeholders when required

  • Responding to maintenance issues and breakdowns as required

The majority of your time will be spent undertaking inspections, audits, and maintenance activities rather than project installation work.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary package of $75,000 – $90,000 per annum (depending on experience)

  • Company vehicle supplied

  • Mobile phone supplied

  • Excellent work-life balance

  • Ongoing training and professional development

  • Stable, long-term role servicing established clients

  • Local work within the Moreton Bay Regional Council region

  • Supportive and knowledgeable team environment

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Minimum 5 years' demonstrated experience in commercial, sports turf, municipal, or large-scale irrigation maintenance

  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills

  • Sound understanding of automated irrigation systems and controllers

  • Ability to work autonomously and manage your workload effectively

  • Good communication and reporting skills

  • Current Australian Driver's Licence

  • Commitment to quality workmanship and customer service

Experience working on sports fields, parks, golf courses, schools, councils, or municipal irrigation systems will be highly regarded.
