About the Role

You will be responsible for producing accurate structural steel detailing and fabrication drawings for homes, granny flats, modular buildings, and associated residential projects.

You will work closely with engineers, estimators, project managers, fabricators, and site teams to ensure all designs are practical, buildable, and delivered on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed structural steel shop drawings and fabrication drawings

• Produce accurate material take-offs and steel schedules

• Interpret architectural, structural, and engineering plans

• Liaise with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams

• Coordinate drawing revisions and design changes

• Ensure all drawings comply with Australian Standards and project requirements

• Assist with project planning and construction coordination

• Resolve detailing issues and provide practical construction solutions

• Maintain drawing registers and project documentation

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience as a Steel Detailer within residential, modular, or light commercial construction

• Proficiency in Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, or similar detailing software

• Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and construction processes

• Ability to interpret engineering and architectural drawings

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• A proactive attitude and commitment to quality outcomes

Desirable Experience

• Experience detailing steel frames for homes, granny flats, or modular buildings

• Knowledge of prefabricated or off-site construction methods

• Experience working directly with fabrication workshops

• Understanding of residential building regulations and construction practices
