Project Sales Consultant – Painting & Repaints

Brisbane-based | Established repaint company | Share of inbound leads | CRM + quoting systems

Surepaint is looking for a Project Sales Consultant to join our Brisbane team.

This role is ideal for someone from the painting industry who understands repaint work, client expectations, scopes, surfaces, access, preparation, coatings and site conditions — but wants to move into a more professional client-facing sales and consulting role.

You may be an experienced painter, former painting contractor, painting supervisor, estimator, project manager or QBCC-licensed tradesperson who enjoys talking with clients and wants to use your trade knowledge in a structured company environment.

This is not a role where appointments are simply handed to you and you just turn up to measure.

You will receive a share of inbound leads, but you will be responsible for working those opportunities properly — calling, qualifying, booking suitable appointments, quoting, following up and keeping your pipeline current.

About Surepaint

Surepaint is an established Brisbane repaint company specialising in residential repaints, body corporate painting, commercial repaints, interiors, exteriors, roofs, decks and maintenance painting.

We have built strong systems around marketing, CRM, quoting, admin support, project handover and production management.

Surepaint generates enquiries and provides the tools, systems and support. You will receive a share of inbound leads, but the Project Sales Consultant is responsible for working those opportunities properly.

That means calling, qualifying, booking, quoting, following up by phone, updating the CRM and keeping your pipeline current.

The Role

As a Project Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for managing painting opportunities from first enquiry through to accepted project.

You will:

  • call new painting enquiries quickly

  • ask the right questions before booking appointments

  • qualify whether the job is suitable for Surepaint

  • book and manage your own appointments

  • attend site visits with homeowners, property managers, body corporates and commercial clients

  • inspect surfaces, access, preparation needs and site conditions

  • understand the client’s goals, timing, budget and scope

  • prepare accurate painting proposals

  • explain recommended painting systems in plain English

  • present quotes professionally

  • follow up open quotes by phone

  • update CRM notes and next action dates

  • manage your lead and proposal pipeline

  • identify extra work, variations and upsell opportunities

  • build relationships with past clients, property managers and commercial contacts

  • work with admin and production to ensure clean project handover

You will not be left unsupported. You will have a share of warm inbound leads, quoting tools, CRM systems, admin support, training and an established company reputation.

But you must be willing to own the sales process.

Who This Would Suit

This role may suit someone who has been:

  • a painting contractor

  • a licensed painter

  • a repaint specialist

  • a painting supervisor

  • a painting estimator

  • a small painting business owner

  • a project manager in painting or maintenance

  • a QBCC-licensed tradesperson looking for a new direction

You may be tired of running crews, chasing payments, managing materials, dealing with subcontractor headaches, or carrying all the risk yourself.

This role gives you the opportunity to use your painting knowledge in a more structured client-facing role with systems, support, leads and a team around you.

About You

You will be a good fit if you are:

  • experienced in painting, repainting or trade-based project work

  • confident speaking with clients by phone and in person

  • willing to call leads rather than wait for appointments

  • comfortable asking questions and qualifying opportunities

  • practical and technically minded

  • able to identify preparation, access and coating requirements

  • professional in presentation

  • organised with follow-up

  • comfortable using a laptop, CRM and phone system

  • willing to follow a structured sales process

  • able to manage your own calendar

  • commercially aware

  • comfortable qualifying out poor-fit jobs

  • motivated by results and high-quality work

You do not need to be a “slick salesperson”.

We are looking for someone who can combine painting knowledge, professionalism, common sense, phone confidence and good follow-through.

What This Role Is Not

This role is not just estimating.

It is not simply being handed appointments, measuring the job, sending a quote and waiting for the client to reply.

You will be expected to take ownership of your pipeline, call clients, follow up opportunities, update the CRM and help create sales momentum.

If you want to use your painting knowledge in a proper client-facing role and are willing to build strong sales habits, this role could suit you well.

What We Offer

  • competitive base salary

  • car or car allowance

  • phone and laptop

  • performance bonus opportunity

  • a share of warm inbound leads

  • CRM and quoting software

  • admin and production support

  • sales training and coaching

  • established brand and strong local reputation

  • long-term growth opportunity

Why Join Surepaint?

This is a chance to step out of the day-to-day pressure of running painting jobs yourself and into a more structured role where your trade knowledge is valued.

You will still be working with painting projects, clients, scopes and site inspections — but with the support of a company behind you.

Surepaint has invested heavily in systems, software, marketing, quoting tools, admin support and production processes.

We are looking for someone who wants to help clients make good decisions, quote projects properly, follow up professionally, and be part of a growing repaint business.

To Apply

Please apply with your resume and a short cover note outlining your painting, estimating, supervision, QBCC or trade-related experience.

In your cover note, please tell us why you are interested in moving into a client-facing project sales role where calling leads, managing a pipeline and following up quotes are part of the job.
