Joinery Designer and Draftsperson

About the business and the role

BCI FURNITURE PTY LTD is a supplier of contract furniture - Seating, Tables and Joinery items - to Public spaces across Australia, including:

Retail spaces - Malls and Foodcourts, Fast food outlets - McDonald's, Guzman Y Gomez, etc., Healthcare - Hospitals and Aged Care facilities, Corporate spaces - Break-out areas, etc., Restaurants, and more.

We're a family business, established 30+ years, comprised of a close team of around 30 staff.

We design, manufacture, source, import and supply contract-quality, fit-for-purpose furniture to public spaces projects.

Job tasks and responsibilities

*Take briefs from Sales Staff/Customers

*Hand-sketch concepts

*Explore/recommend/apply value-engineering

*Explore/recommend/apply fit-for-purpose outcomes

*Develop joinery designs per CAD

*Produce Client drawings for sign-off

*Produce shop drawings for relevant trades

*Project site visits - measures/surveys - if necessary

*Project site visits - installation supervision - if necessary

*Contract trade supplier site visits - production supervision/QC - if necessary

Skills and experience

Essential requirements:

*Extensive CAD drafting/joinery design-detailing experience is essential

Beneficial but Non-essential:

*Hands-on experience/ability in joinery/cabinetmaking for developing/prototyping

 *Flair in graphic design for creation and presentation of renders
