Kean Energy Resources provides end-to-end solutions across a multitude of disciplines, from planning to execution for a wide range of industries. Our projects include routine maintenance; break-in works and preventative measures with all works being finalised through our rigorous quality control procedures ensuring each close-out meets and exceeds industry standards and our own quality assurance standards. Our Coatings Team are based in the Cooper Basin.


About the Role:

Operating on a 2/2 or 3/1 roster, this casual position is suited to experienced Industrial Painters and Abrasive Blasters who are confident working in remote and challenging environments. You will be responsible for surface preparation and coating of equipment, piping, and infrastructure using various industrial painting and blasting techniques to ensure protection, longevity, and compliance with client specifications.

The work is based in the Cooper Basin and includes time at remote satellite camps in arid conditions. This role requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and within a high-performing team.

This is a casual position and would suit an experienced, self-motivated blaster/painter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct abrasive blasting and industrial painting to specified standards

  • Mixing paint according to instructions. Selecting and preparing paints to required colours by mixing portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying additives

  • Apply protective coatings using brush, roller, or spray equipment, ensuring even coverage and adherence to application standards.

  • Select and prepare appropriate paint types and colour blends, ensuring alignment with project requirements

  • Maintain equipment and materials in safe and operational condition

  • Adhere to site safety protocols and quality assurance processes

  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to ensure project efficiency and compliance


Requirements:

  • Minimum of Certificate III Engineering Fabrication (Surface Finishing) or similar

  • White Card

  • Confined Space Entry

  • Gas Test Atmosphere

  • Current Drivers License (C class required, further classes advantageous)

  • High Risk Work License (advantageous)

  • Full Australian Working Rights
