About the role

Cabinet Craft Sunshine Coast is seeking an experienced Cabinet Maker/Wood Machinist to join our skilled team in Maroochydore. This is a full-time position that offers a fantastic opportunity to work with quality materials and modern machinery whilst creating bespoke cabinetry solutions for our valued clients across the Sunshine Coast region. You will play a crucial role in transforming design concepts into exceptional finished products, working both independently and as part of our collaborative workshop team.

What you'll be doing

1. Operating and maintaining a range of woodworking machinery and tools in a safe and efficient manner, including table saws, panel saws, planers, sanders and CNC equipment

2. Accurately interpreting technical drawings, specifications and design plans to produce cabinet components with precision

3. Measuring, cutting, shaping and finishing timber and manufactured board materials to exact specifications

4. Assembling cabinet frames, doors and drawers, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic quality

5. Fitting hardware, hinges, handles and other accessories to completed cabinetry

6. Applying finishes such as staining, varnishing or painting to timber surfaces

7. Conducting quality checks throughout the manufacturing process to ensure all work meets our high standards

8. Maintaining workshop equipment and tools, performing routine maintenance and reporting any faults or safety concerns

9. Working collaboratively with the design and installation teams to ensure seamless project delivery

10. Adhering to health and safety regulations and maintaining a clean, organised work environment

What we're looking for

1. A formal qualification in cabinet making, furniture making or woodworking, or substantial proven experience working as a cabinet maker or wood machinist

2. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Cabinet Maker or Wood Machinist

3. Proficiency in operating a wide range of woodworking machinery and tools safely and accurately

4. Strong technical knowledge of timber properties, joinery techniques and finishing methods

5. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications with precision

6. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, finished cabinetry

7. Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to different materials and design requirements

8. A strong commitment to health and safety practices in the workshop environment

9. Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

10. Physical fitness and the ability to perform repetitive manual tasks and lift moderately heavy materials

11. Experience with CNC machinery or digital design software is desirable but not essential

12. Valid Australian work authorisation (citizens, permanent residents, or holders of a valid work visa)
