About the role
We are seeking an experienced Boilermaker to join our Progress Rail Service team in Redbank, supporting the overhaul and repair of locomotives. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing, highly skilled team within our Locomotives Department, where quality, safety, and teamwork are at the forefront of everything we do.

About You
We are looking for a motivated Boilermaker who takes pride in delivering high‑quality workmanship and enjoys working in a dynamic, hands‑on environment. You're reliable, detail‑focused, and keen to continue developing your skills within heavy industry.

You will bring:

  • Trade qualifications as a Boilermaker
  • Solid fabrication experience, ideally in medium to heavy work
  • Strong welding skills with a focus on quality and safety
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of Australian Standard Welding Codes
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A willingness to learn, develop, and undertake further training
  • The flexibility to work shifts and overtime when required



Skills and Experience

  • Locomotive experience is advantageous but not essential - full training will be provided for the right candidate
  • Prior experience in a heavy maintenance or asset management environment is preferred but not mandatory
  • Forklift and/or overhead crane certification is beneficial but not essential
