BEV Technician

Barbagallo are seeking a High Voltage Technician with specialist experience in BEVs to join our team. This is not a general automotive technician role – it is an exclusive opportunity for a qualified professional with hands-on BEV expertise. Candidates with experience at Tesla, BYD, or other leading BEV brands are strongly encouraged to apply.

To be shortlisted, applicants must have a minimum of 12 months’ hands-on experience working with Battery Electric Vehicle systems.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining BEVs to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role suits a technician with proven technical skills, a strong safety mindset, and a genuine passion for electric vehicles.

 Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot BEV systems, including batteries, inverters, motors, and high-voltage components.

• Carry out repairs and maintenance in line with manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.

• Inspect, test, and replace high-voltage batteries and power electronics.

• Follow strict high-voltage safety protocols at all times.

• Accurately document work performed and maintain service records.

• Stay up to date with emerging EV technologies and industry developments.

Qualifications & Skills

• Certificate IV in Automotive Repair (or equivalent), with BEV experience highly regarded.

• Certification or training in high-voltage systems preferred.

• Strong understanding of BEV powertrains, battery management systems, and electric drivetrains.

• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and EV-specific software.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Commitment to the highest safety standards.

• Valid driver’s licence
