About the Role

Due to its rapid and ongoing growth, the Company now has an exciting opportunity for an sandblaster/ surface preparation reporting to the Team Leader - Paint, this role will be responsible for:

·         Operate abrasive blasting equipment, including pressure pots, blast cabinets, hoses and nozzles.

·         Prepare surfaces by removing rust, scale, paint, coatings and contaminants.

·         Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to ensure quality standards are met.

·         Select and load appropriate blasting media according to job specifications

·         Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of blasting equipment.

·         Follow workplace safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.

·         Read and interpret work orders, technical drawings and surface preparation specifications.

·         Measure document blasting profiles and surface cleanliness standards.

·         Assist with painting and coating preparation activities where required.

·         Maintain clean and organised work areas.

 

About You

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:

·           Previous experience in an industrial paint shop environment

·           Mechanical aptitude and basic equipment maintenance skills.

·           Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail

·           Must have a can-do attitude

·           Have a strong safety mindset and attitude

·           The proven ability to work within a team environment as the organisational needs dictate

·           A current Forklift and Drivers Licence is preferred but not essential
