This is an exciting opportunity to join Good Shepherd Lutheran Primary School in the role of Grounds and Facilities Maintenance Person. At Good Shepherd, we are passionate about providing high-quality and attractive grounds and facilities for our students and our school community.

The Grounds and Facilities Maintenance Person contributes to the safe, functional and well-presented operation of the School’s buildings, facilities, equipment and grounds. The role involves undertaking a broad range of maintenance, repair, groundskeeping, cleaning, set-up and general support tasks to ensure the School environment is cared for, attractive and ready for use by students, staff, families and visitors.

About the role

• Part-time position, 7.00am to 3.30pm Monday to Thursday (0.8FTE).

• Six-month fixed-term contract to replace a staff member on extended leave.

• Working in a friendly and collaborative team of grounds and maintenance staff.

• Upkeep gardens, mow lawns and maintain grounds.

• Undertake maintenance and improvements to school facilities.

• Commencing as soon as possible!

Our ideal candidate

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

• Relevant experience in a gardening, landscaping, general maintenance, construction, or a similar role will be well regarded.

• Practical and sound knowledge of buildings and grounds maintenance methods.

• Comprehensive knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment.

• Sound knowledge of the safe use, storage and handling of chemicals, including relevant safety data sheets.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and within a collaborative team environment.

• Ability to be self-motivated, focused and to complete tasks in a timely manner.

• Knowledge of the education sector and its operation is well-regarded but not essential.
