We are looking for an experienced civil projects supervisor with proven leadership experience and sound ability to co-ordinate teams, for work within the field of road construction and maintenance. Your exceptional problem solving skills will see you thrive in this role.
The key focus of this role will be to plan and deliver road construction, upgrading and rehabilitation works including reseal program, street and footpath sweeping program and unsealed road management. Applicants with a background in roads, rail or similar civil infrastructure works would be a suitable fit for this position.
Duties will include:
assisting in the preparation and monitoring of annual road construction and maintenance programs;
plan for upcoming construction projects including organisation of contractors and supply of materials;
provide supervision and direction to road construction teams and contractors to ensure works and contracts are completed successfully, comply with policies and meet industry best practice guidelines;
provide supervision and direction to the street sweeping team;
ensure all staff and contractors comply with WHS policy, WorkCover regulations and any other legislative requirements;
prepare purchase order requisitions, verify and approve payment of invoices for suppliers of materials, works and services;
ensure works are carried out in accordance with allocated budgets;
coordinate resources with other business units and work teams to ensure the efficient delivery of services.
Applicants will need to possess:
current C class driver licence or higher (HR licence would be highly advantageous)
general construction induction card (white card)
traffic control card - TCR, IMP and PWZ
certificate IV in leadership and management, or equivalent hands-on experience
This position is available for an initial period of 3-6 months with potential to extend, and an immediate start of work is required.
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills, high level communication skills, excellent organisational ability and well-developed computer skills are essential. Previous experience in a similar role including leading multiple works teams and contractors will be required, as well as expert knowledge of work site traffic control and planning. Ideally you will have an understanding of project budget monitoring and control, and a demonstrated ability to interpret design drawings to prepare accurate estimates for works.
Applicants will need to currently reside in the Orange local government area due to the on-call component of this position.
