BUSHY delivers landscapes grounded in ecological restoration, cultural collaboration, and a deep respect for place. This approach of Ecological landscaping is a restorative activity that blends traditional landscaping practices with those used by the natural area restoration industry. The achievement of good ecological outcomes sets it apart from traditional landscape and horticultural practice.
We are looking for a 3rd/4th Year Landscape Apprentice to support the on-ground delivery of this work. You will work alongside experienced Foremen and Leading Hands to help deliver projects to a high standard, while recognising the ecological, cultural, and community significance of the landscapes you are helping create. You will work across a diverse range of projects, from high-end residential landscapes, commercial and public domain works.
This role is perfect for an individual who interested in gaining more experience in the industry and would like to be part of the change that's needed in traditional landscape design and practice in Australia.
Create landscapes guided by ecological restoration principles
Work with First Nations partners on significant public domain projects across Sydney
Contribute to project thinking and delivery alongside our landscape architecture, natural area restoration, and horticulture teams across all project types
Promote ecology and environmental responsibility within the landscape construction industry
Assist Foremen and Leading Hands with the delivery of landscape construction projects.
Deliver high quality hardscape and softscape works, utilising construction, ecological restoration and horticultural skills.
Work closely with designers, ecologists, clients, and project partners, carrying design and ecological intent through to construction.
Maintain strong safety, compliance, and quality standards.
Continue developing your construction knowledge and practical skills across a broad range of landscape projects.
Currently completing a 3rd or 4th Year Landscape Construction Apprenticeship.
Developing construction knowledge across hard and soft landscape works, including experience in site set-out, earthworks, stone masonry, carpentry, soft works, irrigation, and quality on-ground delivery.
Genuine interest in ecological restoration and its application in built landscapes.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and pride in quality work.
Reliable, grounded, and proactive.
