About the Role
We are seeking a Service Technician to join our Australian service team, based in Brisbane, supporting customers across Queensland and wider Australia as required.
This is a hands-on, field-based role responsible for the servicing, maintenance, repair and commissioning of cremation and incineration systems. As a Service Technician, you will be the on-site representative of Facultatieve Technologies, trusted to deliver safe, professional and reliable service to our customers.
This role would suit an experienced field service engineer, or a site-based mechanical or electrical engineer looking to step into a mobile role with a stable, well-established global business.
What You’ll Be Doing
Carrying out planned servicing, preventative maintenance and inspections in line with company procedures and manufacturer standards
Diagnosing faults and responding to reactive breakdowns to minimise customer downtime
Completing accurate service reports, inspections and technical documentation in a timely manner
Installing, commissioning and testing equipment and components where required
Liaising with Service Managers and technical specialists to resolve complex technical issues
Managing site access requirements, permits and customer expectations while working on client premises
Maintaining tools, equipment and company vehicles in a safe and serviceable condition
Building strong working relationships with customers and acting as a trusted technical representative of the business
Health, Safety & Compliance
Health and safety is a core part of this role. You will be expected to:
Comply at all times with company Health & Safety policies and Australian Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation
Conduct site-specific risk assessments and follow safe systems of work
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and apply safe working practices on all sites
Report hazards, near misses, incidents and unsafe conditions promptly
Ensure all work is carried out in line with environmental, safety and regulatory requirements
Stop work where conditions are unsafe and escalate concerns in line with company procedures
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
Trade qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
Proven experience in a service, maintenance, manufacturing or industrial engineering environment
Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field-based role
Strong communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach
Current Australian driver’s licence
Desirable:
Dual trade skills (mechanical and electrical)
Experience with combustion systems, gas systems, industrial plant or heavy equipment
Previous field service or remote working experience
Experience working in regulated or safety-critical environments
Working Conditions
Field-based role with travel across Queensland and interstate as required
Occasional travel for training, recruitment or compliance purposes
