About the Role
River Sands Pty Ltd is a vertically integrated manufacturer of packaged mortars, cements and speciality sands. Established for 50 years, its manufacturing operations includes a Sand Quarry and blending facility; a large “Dry Mix” concrete, mortars, cement and sands packing facility. We are seeking passionate, energetic individual who is committed to providing effective professional service. Reporting directly to the Mechanical Leading hand, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving the performance of production equipment.
Key Responsibilities
The role will appeal to a tradesperson who enjoys challenge and variety, given the extensive plant to be maintained and wide range of equipment from PLC controlled automated plant for high-speed bagging operations to heavy plant for moving and processing sands and gravels
Performing preventative and reactive maintenance across production machinery
Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical faults
Minimising downtime and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
Working closely with production and engineering teams to ensure operational efficiency
Key Skills & Experience
Trade qualifications as a Fitter & Turner, Mechanical Fitter, or equivalent
Strong industrial mechanical fitter background encompassing preventative maintenance and repair works on process and materials handling equipment.
Strong experience with maintenance and repair of complex industrial plant and mechanical components, equipment isolation and permit to work procedures.
Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding experience
Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to maintenance
Experience using MEX would be highly regarded, but training will be provided
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
