The Islamic College of Brisbane (ICB) is seeking a College Security Guard to support the safety, security, and after-hours supervision of the College campus.
This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 4:00pm to 12:00am. The role focuses on campus security, student supervision after school hours, and ensuring all facilities are secured, working independently while contributing to a safe and supportive school environment.
About the Role
The College Security Guard plays a key role in maintaining a safe and secure environment across the College campus during after-hours operations. This role is suited to individuals with experience in security, caretaking, facilities support, or similar roles, with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct routine patrols of the school campus to ensure safety and security
Ensure all buildings, facilities, and access points are locked and secured prior to finishing time
Supervise students remaining on site after school hours and liaise with parents/guardians for collection
Respond to after-hours enquiries from parents/guardians, including lost property matters
Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorised access and promote a safe environment
Report any incidents, hazards, or security concerns in accordance with College procedures
Selection Criteria
Relevant qualifications and current Security Licence (QLD)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement
Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail
Commitment to the College’s values and inclusive Islamic ethos
Current Blue Card or ability to obtain one prior to commencement
