Due to continued growth, we are looking for experienced Vehicle Body Builder / Assembly Fitters to join our workshop team.
About the Role
These are hands-on trade roles working across the build and fit-out of emergency service vehicles including fire appliances, rescue trucks, and ambulances. You'll be working from detailed technical drawings and engineering specifications to fabricate, assemble, and fit complex vehicle bodies and equipment modules — with the capability to manage your own work with minimal direction.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
Reading, interpreting, and building from technical drawings and engineering plans
Fabricating, assembling, and fitting vehicle body components and equipment modules
Working independently and efficiently through allocated tasks within project timelines
Maintaining high standards of workmanship and finish quality on every build
Contributing to a safe, productive, and collaborative workshop environment
About You
Essential:
Trade background in Vehicle Body Building, Panel Work, Metal Fabrication, or a closely related discipline
Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and build to specification
Capable of working unsupervised and managing your own workflow
Strong eye for detail and pride in the quality of your work
Team player with a reliable and professional attitude
Highly Regarded:
Prior experience working on fire trucks, emergency vehicles, or ambulances
Forklift licence
Experience with heavy vehicle platforms or specialist vehicle fit-outs
