Qualified Carpenter / Maintenance Carpenter

$90K–$100K + Overtime + Fuel Card + Work Phone

Full-Time Role | Consistent Work | Organised Systems | Immediate Start

Are you a highly skilled carpenter who takes real pride in your work?

Are you tired of chaotic builders, disorganised job sites, poor communication, chasing work, and companies that don’t value quality tradesmen?

JT Handyman Solutionz is growing fast, and we’re looking for a reliable, experienced carpenter/maintenance tradesman to join our team.

This is not a basic handyman role.

This is a senior-level position for someone who can walk into a job, assess what needs to be done, solve problems, communicate professionally, and complete quality work without needing to be babysat.

You’ll be joining a growing Melbourne-based maintenance and renovation company with strong systems, consistent workflow, office support, and a team that actually cares about doing things properly.

Why This Role Is Different

Most trade jobs promise “great culture” and “consistent work.”

We actually provide:

$90,000–$100,000 salary package based on experience
Overtime available for those who want to earn more
Fuel card provided
Work phone provided
Consistent scheduled work across Melbourne
Strong office support so you are not left chasing clients
Clear job management system with notes, photos, and scheduling
Variety of work — no repetitive volume-site labour
Stable full-time role with long-term opportunity
Opportunity to grow with a fast-expanding company

We are looking for someone who wants stability, variety, respect, and the opportunity to be part of a company that is moving forward.

About The Role

You’ll be completing residential maintenance, repair, renovation, and carpentry works across Melbourne.

Every day is different.

One day you might be completing door and window repairs.
The next day you could be working on bathroom repairs, cladding, decking, finishing carpentry, plaster repairs, or general property maintenance.

This role suits someone who is confident across a broad range of residential building works and enjoys problem-solving.

You need to be the type of tradesman who can turn up, understand the job, communicate clearly with the client, complete the work properly, and leave the site clean and professional.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be responsible for works including:

  • Residential maintenance and renovation jobs

  • General carpentry and handyman works

  • Internal and external building repairs

  • Door and window installations, repairs, and adjustments

  • Bathroom, kitchen, and laundry renovation works

  • Decks, pergolas, and outdoor structures

  • Skirting, architraves, cabinetry, and finishing carpentry

  • Plaster, flooring, cladding, and general repair works

  • Property defect rectification

  • General building maintenance

  • Taking job photos and notes through our job management system

  • Communicating professionally with clients and office staff

  • Completing work to a high standard the first time

Who We’re Looking For

This role is for a proper tradesman.

Someone who:

  • Takes pride in quality workmanship

  • Can work independently

  • Has strong problem-solving ability

  • Is reliable and organised

  • Communicates well with clients

  • Presents professionally

  • Has strong attention to detail

  • Can handle a wide range of maintenance and renovation tasks

  • Wants consistent work and proper systems

  • Wants to be part of a company that is growing

This is not for someone who needs to be chased, reminded, micromanaged, or constantly supervised.

We want someone who knows their trade, respects the client’s home, and takes ownership of the job.

Requirements

To be considered, you’ll need:

  • Carpentry qualification

  • Strong hands-on experience in residential carpentry, maintenance, or renovation work

  • Broad handyman/maintenance skill set

  • Own tools

  • Fully equipped UTE or work vehicle

  • Current Australian driver’s licence

  • White Card

  • Strong understanding of building methods and WHS requirements

  • High attention to detail

  • Professional communication skills

  • Full Australian working rights

Highly regarded:

  • 10+ years trade experience

  • Working With Children Check

  • Police Check

  • Experience working in residential maintenance

  • Experience dealing directly with homeowners, property managers, or clients
