Apprentice Carpenter

We are looking for an Apprentice Carpenter 2nd and 3rd year or a qualified carpenter to join our team at Smart Choice Granny Flats (we have a team of 4 carpenters already, but we are looking to expand the carpentry team) you will have extra support from other construction professionals in the company like builders, construction managers and site supervisors. Opportunities exist to move in different roles in the company.

No prior experience is needed. Full training provided. You need good communication skills to coordinate with other team members.

Apprentice Carpenter Duties and Responsibilities 

• Assisting in erecting prefabricated timber frames

• Assisting in the fix-out and fit-off carpentry 

• Assisting in installing various cladding profiles

• Assisting in installing eaves

• Other carpentry as required

• Attend TAFE training on carpentry 

• Learn and practice essential carpentry skills on the job

• Maintain a safe work environment

• Prepare and provide your own tools

Requirements for the role:

• Vehicle and driver's license 

• Physical strength and stamina

• Good mathematic skill is needed for practical applications of math used in this trade
