About the role
GS Engineering is seeking a skilled and experienced Boilermaker/Metal Fabricator to join our growing team in Hervey Bay, QLD. This is a full-time position based on-site at our facility in Dundowran, Hervey Bay QLD 4655.

We are looking for an experienced Boilermaker/Metal Fabricator to join our team. The successful candidate must have the following skills and the ability to work to a high standard. They must be a skilled self-starter with the experience required.

·       Fabrication of Stainless Steel, Mild Steel and Aluminium.

·       MIG, TIG and MMA welding of Steel and Stainless steel.

·       MIG and TIG welding of Aluminium.

·       Finishing/Polishing of Stainless Steel and Aluminium.

·       Ability to read detailed drawings.

·       Work both as part of a team and unsupervised.

·       Ability to produce high quality work.

What we're looking for

1. Formal qualification such as a Certificate III or higher in Boilermaking

2. Proven experience of 3+ years working as a boilermaker or metal fabricator in a commercial or industrial setting

3. Proficiency in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and stick welding, with relevant welding certifications

4. Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications

5. Competence in using boilermaking and fabrication tools and machinery, including cutting, bending, and forming equipment

6. Knowledge of relevant Australian standards and regulations for pressure vessels and boiler construction

7. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship

8. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment

9. Relevant safety certifications such as White Card (Australian Construction Induction) and First Aid certification

10. Willingness to work in a hands-on, practical environment and to undertake ongoing professional development
