The Opportunity
The Boilermaker/ Welder is responsible for laying out, fitting, and welding fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble as well as general welding maintenance and repairs to equipment such as machinery, tanks, road construction equipment, building and bridge parts. This role encompasses a range of duties and responsibilities which may vary as directed by Council. The key ones include:
Dismantling, welding repair and assembling to vehicles, construction and industrial machinery in the field and in the Welding Shop;
Setting up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, or gas welding equipment;
Requisitions needing spare parts;
About Yourself
A person in this position will need to hold a relevant Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade Boilermaker/ Welder, OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience. It is also highly desirable for the successful candidate to have:
Construction Induction White Card;
Current ‘C’ class drivers' licence;
Heavy vehicle licence preferable;
Computer/technology knowledge preferable; and
Operator Tickets for machinery preferable (forklift ticket).
