Dry Fire Testing Technician (AS 1851) — Greater Sydney
Arnlew Group is a versatile provider of electrical, fire protection, solar and communications solutions, with a strong focus on quality, safety and attention to detail. As our maintenance division grows, we're seeking an experienced Dry Fire Testing Technician to carry out routine inspection, testing and maintenance of dry fire systems to AS 1851 across our residential, commercial and industrial portfolio throughout greater Sydney.
Your testing and reporting will directly support the issue of Annual Fire Safety Statements (AFSS) and the ongoing fire safety compliance of each site.
Key Responsibilities
Routine inspection, testing and maintenance of dry fire systems to AS 1851 (monthly through to annual frequencies)
Service and fault-find on fire detection and alarm systems — FIPs, addressable and conventional detectors, MCPs and sounders
Test EWIS/occupant warning, emergency and exit lighting, smoke control, fire/smoke dampers, passive fire systems, extinguishers and fire blankets
Identify, record and report defects, and carry out or recommend rectification
Complete AS 1851 records, baseline data, logbooks and service reports accurately and on time
Liaise with clients, building managers and other trades to complete works with minimal disruption
Work to AS 1851, the AS 1670 series, the NCC and NSW fire safety regulations, and all WHS requirements
Essential
FPAS accreditation (NSW Fire Protection Accreditation Scheme)
Certificate II in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing
Proven experience servicing and testing dry fire systems
Sound working knowledge of AS 1851 and AS 1670
Current NSW driver's licence and White Card
Strong fault-finding, attention to detail and the ability to manage your own run
Highly Regarded
Restricted/full electrical licence (dual-trade techs encouraged to apply)
Working at Heights, EWP and First Aid
