Why Join Us?

  • ✅ Diverse work across SA and interstate

  • ✅ Modern, well-maintained fleet

  • ✅ Supportive family-owned business that values its drivers

About Us

D & S Smith Haulage is a proudly South Australian, family-owned transport company built on the values of Respect, Family, and Integrity. We operate a modern fleet and provide transport solutions across metropolitan, regional, remote, and interstate Australia.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced MC Truck Driver who enjoys variety and takes pride in delivering exceptional service. Our work is anything but repetitive. You'll transport a wide range of freight including refrigerated, over-dimensional, bulk grain, and general freight, travelling to remote locations and country towns to major depots and interstate destinations.

Whether it's a linehaul run, a remote delivery, or servicing regional customers, you'll play an important role in keeping Australia moving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate MC vehicles safely across intrastate and interstate routes

  • Transport a variety of freight, including refrigerated, general, bulk grain, and over-dimensional loads

  • Ensure deliveries are completed safely, professionally, and on time

  • Communicate effectively with operations staff, customers, and team members

  • Comply with all fatigue management, safety, and transport regulations

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • Current MC Licence

  • Experience operating Road Trains or B-Doubles

  • Professional attitude with a strong safety focus

  • Basic Fatigue Management accreditation

  • Current NHVAS Medical

  • Forklift Licence (advantageous)

  • Dangerous Goods Licence (preferred but not essential)

What We Offer

  • Modern, well-maintained equipment

  • A diverse workload where no two days are the same

  • A close-knit team that values communication and respect

  • Long-term opportunities with a growing family-owned business

  • The chance to experience some of South Australia's most unique locations while doing meaningful work

If you're an MC driver looking for more than just the same run every day and want a role that combines variety, responsibility, and adventure, we'd love to hear from you.
