About the role
Fields Trade Services Group is seeking a 1st Year Apprentice Data & Security Technician to join our growing technical team in Adelaide. This is an exciting full-time apprenticeship opportunity that will provide you with comprehensive training and hands-on experience in data and security technologies. You will work alongside experienced technicians, developing practical skills whilst gaining recognised qualifications in this rapidly evolving field. This role is based in Adelaide, SA 5000 and offers the perfect foundation for a rewarding career in the trades and technical services sector.
What you'll be doing
Assisting senior technicians with the installation, configuration and maintenance of data and security systems
Learning to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues relating to data storage and security infrastructure
Supporting the testing and documentation of security systems and protocols
Participating in on-site technical work, including cable management, equipment setup and system deployment
Maintaining accurate records of work completed and technical specifications
Attending formal training and study sessions as part of your apprenticeship programme
Developing knowledge of industry safety standards and best practices in data and security environments
Collaborating with team members to deliver quality technical solutions to clients
What we're looking for
A strong interest in technology, particularly in data management and security systems
Year 10 or equivalent educational qualification as a minimum
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in technical work
Good problem-solving abilities and a logical approach to learning
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Reliability, punctuality and a professional attitude towards your apprenticeship
Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills throughout your training
Physical capability to perform hands-on technical work, including climbing ladders and working at heights where required
A current driver's licence and the ability to travel to different job sites
Previous experience in a technical or trades environment is preferred but not essential
