Are you a qualified Mechanical Fitter looking for a role where your skills are valued, your work is varied, and your career can continue to grow?

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a highly respected organisation servicing the mining, quarrying, construction, and industrial sectors. Working within a strong team culture, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and overhauling a diverse range of heavy equipment and plant machinery.

This is an excellent opportunity for a tradesperson who enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in their workmanship, and wants to be part of a business that genuinely invests in its people.

This role is for 6 months but will transfer into another project within Sydney.

About the Role

Reporting to the Service Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing

  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults

  • Equipment rebuilds and major component overhauls

  • Hydraulic and pneumatic system repairs

  • Installation and commissioning of equipment

  • Breakdown response and fault finding

  • Preparing service reports and documentation

  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Fitter & Turner, or equivalent

  • Strong mechanical fault-finding skills

  • Experience working on fixed plant, mobile plant, mining, quarrying, earthmoving, or industrial equipment

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

  • Commitment to workplace safety

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Current driver's licence

  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

Experience with any of the following will be advantageous:

  • Crushers and screening equipment

  • Conveyors and material handling systems

  • Hydraulic systems

  • Pumps and rotating equipment

  • Mining and quarry plant

  • Earthmoving and construction equipment

  • Shutdown and project work
