John Leaver Engineering Services Pty Ltd (JLE) is an ISO-certified maintenance and engineering company based in St Marys, specialising in the design, fabrication, installation, and maintenance of process plant and equipment within the water and infrastructure industries.
With over 25 years of experience and continued growth, we are seeking a qualified Boilermaker / Fabricator to join our experienced team.
This role is primarily workshop-based, with occasional site work supporting local water infrastructure, industrial maintenance, and project installation works.
As a Qualified Boilermaker / Fabricator, you will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and installation of a variety of mechanical and structural components. You will work on a diverse range of projects, including process equipment, pipework, structural fabrication, and custom-engineered solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
Fabrication and assembly of structural steel, stainless steel, and process equipment
Welding, cutting, grinding, fitting, and general boilermaking duties
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, and sketches
Measuring, marking out, and preparing materials for fabrication
MIG, TIG, and MMA welding as required
Fabrication and installation of pipework, frames, brackets, platforms, and mechanical components
Assisting with equipment installation and maintenance works on customer sites
Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard with a strong focus on quality and safety
Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient workshop environment
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Trade qualification as a Boilermaker / Metal Fabricator (Certificate III Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent)
Proven experience in general fabrication and welding
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work independently from specifications
Strong fabrication skills including cutting, fitting, assembly, and welding
Experience working with carbon steel and stainless steel
Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Ability to work effectively within a small, experienced team
Certificate III Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Boilermaker)
Current Driver’s Licence
Construction White Card
Ability to pass site-specific inductions and requirements
Forklift Licence
Working at Heights
Confined Space Training
EWP Licence
Experience within water, process, or industrial environments
Long-term, stable employment with an established engineering company
