We are currently seeking a Qualified Mechanic or 4th Year Apprentice to join our busy workshop team. This is a great opportunity to work across a diverse range of vehicles and equipment, including trucks, woodchippers, elevated work platforms (EWPs), and specialised plant machinery.

About the Role

In this hands-on position, you'll work both independently and alongside our experienced mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet to a high standard, ensuring minimal downtime and supporting daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on trucks, plant, and equipment

  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure reliability and safety

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic faults

  • Maintain accurate service records and report parts requirements

  • Manage workshop tasks to ensure efficiency and cleanliness

  • Assist with breakdown repairs both in-yard and on-site when required

  • Support junior staff and offsiders where applicable

  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards and procedures

About You

  • Trade qualification in Automotive Mechanics (or 4th Year Apprentice nearing completion)

  • Must be currently enrolled in 4th year automotive mechanic apprenticeship

  • Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, and plant equipment (preferred)

  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

  • MR Licence – essential

  • HR Licence – highly regarded

  • White Card – preferred

  • Strong work ethic and reliability
