Qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic

About the role
Harlen's Heavy Diesel Services is seeking another qualified and experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our rapidly expanding team on the Sunshine Coast, QLD. This full-time position entails responsibility for the maintenance and repairs of a diverse range of heavy diesel vehicles and equipment. This role is 4 nights a week Monday to Thursday located at Chevallum.

You will been supplied with a company-provided utility vehicle.

What you'll be doing:

• Perform preventative maintenance on heavy diesel engines, transmissions, and other components

• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues on heavy diesel vehicles

• Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve problems

• Maintain detailed records of work performed

• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in a timely manner

• Servicing and repairs of trucks and trailers.

What we're looking for:

• Reliability and consistency when completing tasks

• Commitment to show up

• Formal qualifications in heavy diesel mechanics

• Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent heavy diesel qualification is required

• Minimum 3 continuous years' experience as a fully qualified heavy diesel mechanic.

• Strong knowledge of heavy diesel engines, transmissions, and related components

• Experience with all major equipment brands.

• Proficient in using diagnostic equipment and tools

• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Australian recognised trade qualification/certificate as Heavy Diesel Mechanic (Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent)

• Valid Australian driver's licence (manual transmission preferred)

• Manual driver's licence is required - automatic licence will not be accepted

• Must have unrestricted right to work in Australia

• Must have your own tools. Basic tools supplied in the workshop.

• Must have a good attitude and we do not tolerate bad behaviour.
