Process Pumps/Water is seeking a hands-on Service Technician/Mechanical Fitter to join our growing team based in Bayswater, Victoria.
This is a varied role that combines workshop-based manufacturing and assembly with repair, maintenance, and field service work. A key part of the role involves assessing, repairing, overhauling, and testing pumps, dosing equipment, and process equipment returned from customer sites.
You will also be involved in building water treatment systems, chemical dosing skids, pumping systems, and process equipment, as well as servicing and maintaining customer equipment across a wide range of industries including food and beverage, manufacturing, water treatment, agriculture, mining, and industrial processing.
The role offers variety where one day you may be repairing pumps and mechanical equipment in the workshop, the next you could be building a dosing skid, installing equipment on-site, or assisting with the commissioning of a water treatment system.

• Management of workshop repair jobs from assessment through to completion
• Inspection, fault-finding, repair, overhaul, testing, and reporting of pumps, motors, valves, dosing equipment, and associated mechanical systems
• Assembly of water treatment systems, pump skids, and chemical dosing systems
• Mounting pumps, tanks, instrumentation, and pipework onto skids and backboards
• Assembly of PVC, PP, stainless steel, and other process pipework systems
• Light fabrication and workshop manufacturing
• Marking out, cutting, drilling, and preparing components for assembly
• Light machining work using manual workshop equipment
• Installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of equipment at customer sites
• Fault-finding and troubleshooting of mechanical systems
• Completing service reports and job documentation
• Maintaining workshop tools, equipment, and housekeeping standards
• Trade qualification as a Fitter & Turner, Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter, or the ability to demonstrate equivalent practical experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and tasks
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude
• Current Australian Driver's Licence
• Experience using common workshop machinery, hand tools, and mechanical equipment
• Experience carrying out fault-finding, repairs, and maintenance of mechanical equipment
• Experience with pumps, water treatment equipment, or process systems
• Experience fabricating brackets, mounting plates, and supports
• Experience with PVC and plastic pipework fabrication and assembly
• Welding experience
• Forklift licence
• Experience operating manual lathes and milling machines
• Basic electrical or instrumentation knowledge / experience
