As our customer base continues to grow, we are looking for a capable and customer-focused Electrical Switchboard Service Technician to support our customers on site with installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, modifications and ongoing service work.
This is a hands-on, field-based role suited to a qualified electrician who takes pride in solving practical technical challenges, representing the business professionally and keeping critical electrical infrastructure operating safely and reliably.
As a Chadwick Electrical Switchboard Service Technician, you will be the face of our business on customer sites. You will work independently and as part of our broader technical team to deliver high-quality service, support and solutions.
Your work will include attending customer sites, diagnosing issues, completing modifications, assisting with commissioning and ensuring all work is carried out safely, professionally and to Chadwick’s quality standards.
No two sites are the same, so this role will suit someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving and taking ownership of outcomes.
In this role, you will:

Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently and safely.
Complete modifications and upgrades to existing switchboards based on customer and project requirements.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
Ensure all work complies with relevant electrical standards, WHS requirements and site safety procedures.
Liaise professionally with customers, contractors, site supervisors and internal Chadwick teams.
Provide practical feedback from site to support continuous improvement in product quality and service delivery.
Represent Chadwick’s reputation for quality, professionalism and reliability in every customer interaction.
You are a qualified electrician with strong practical experience and a professional, customer-focused approach. You enjoy working in the field, solving problems and delivering quality outcomes.
You will ideally bring:
Current electrical licence.
Strong understanding of switchboards, electrical distribution systems, components and electrical theory.
Experience with installation, commissioning, fault-finding and service work.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Current White Card and sound knowledge of WHS and site safety requirements.
A strong commitment to safe work practices.
Professional communication skills and the ability to explain technical matters clearly.
A reliable, punctual and accountable approach.
The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Practical problem-solving skills and the confidence to adapt to different site conditions.
Experience working with switchboards, distribution boards, control panels or similar electrical infrastructure will be highly regarded.
Competitive salary package based on skills and experience.
Full-time, stable employment with an established Australian manufacturer.
Variety in your workday across different customer sites and industries.
Ongoing training and professional development.
Support from an experienced internal technical and manufacturing team.
The opportunity to be part of a respected business with more than 80 years of industry history.
A role where your technical skills, customer service and problem-solving ability will be genuinely valued.
At Chadwick, our reputation has been built over decades through quality products, strong customer relationships and dependable service. This role is an opportunity to play a key part in maintaining that reputation by supporting customers where it matters most — on site.
You will be part of a business that values technical capability, safety, professionalism, customer care and pride in workmanship.
If you are a qualified electrician who enjoys field service work, technical problem-solving and delivering excellent customer outcomes, we would like to hear from you.
Please apply with your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience.
