We are looking for a motivated and reliable 1st Year Apprentice Butcher to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to build a long-term career in the meat industry while gaining a nationally recognised qualification. You will learn all aspects of retail butchery from experienced professionals in a supportive and family-oriented environment.
About the Role
As an Apprentice Butcher, you will work alongside qualified butchers and experienced team members to learn the skills required to become a trade-qualified butcher.
You will gain hands-on experience in meat preparation, customer service, food safety, product presentation and retail operations while completing your apprenticeship training.
Key Responsibilities
Learn basic meat preparation and cutting techniques
Assist with preparing products for display and sale
Support qualified butchers with daily production tasks
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the workplace
Assist customers and provide friendly customer service
Learn safe food handling and workplace safety procedures
Help with stock rotation, packing and merchandising
Participate in formal apprenticeship training and complete required coursework
Work as part of a team to ensure smooth daily operations
What We're Looking For
Genuine interest in becoming a qualified butcher
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Reliable, punctual and hardworking
Good communication and customer service skills
Ability to follow instructions and work safely
Physically fit and comfortable working in a refrigerated environment
Commitment to completing a Certificate III in Meat Processing (Retail Butcher)
No previous experience is required. We are looking for someone with the right attitude who is eager to learn and develop a trade.

Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or eligible to undertake an Australian Apprenticeship
