Staircase Installer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Staircase Installer to join the team at General Staircase. This is a full-time position based in Penrith, NSW 2750, where you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality staircase installations to our valued clients. As a Staircase Installer, you will be responsible for the precise assembly, fitting and installation of staircases in residential and commercial properties. This role is integral to our reputation for excellence and craftsmanship in the carpentry and cabinet-making industry.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble staircase components using appropriate joinery techniques and adhesives to ensure structural integrity

• Install completed staircases in residential and commercial properties, ensuring precise alignment and secure fixings

• Fit and install balustrades, handrails and other safety components in compliance with building codes and regulations

• Conduct quality checks throughout the installation process to ensure finished products meet required standards

• Prepare work areas and manage tools and materials efficiently on site

• Liaise with clients, project managers and other tradespeople to ensure smooth project completion

• Maintain accurate records of installations and materials used

• Adhere to health and safety requirements and best practices in all work activities

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Staircase Installer or similar carpentry role, preferably within the staircase manufacturing or installation industry

• Strong knowledge of staircase design, construction methods and materials, including timber, metal and composite materials

• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and blueprints

• Competency with hand tools and power tools commonly used in carpentry and installation work

• Excellent attention to detail and precision in measurements and installations

• Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in various positions

• Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations and compliance requirements

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Reliable and punctual with a professional approach to work

• Valid driver's licence

• Relevant carpentry or staircase installation qualifications or certifications are desirable
