About the role

Sydney City Volkswagen is seeking an experienced Parts Interpreter to join our team. This is a crucial position within our automotive service and parts department, where you will be responsible for accurately identifying, sourcing and interpreting Volkswagen vehicle components. Your expertise will directly support our service technicians, customers and sales team, ensuring that the correct parts are identified and supplied for all Volkswagen vehicles. This role is pivotal to maintaining our reputation for excellence and ensuring customer satisfaction through efficient parts management and accurate technical knowledge.

What you'll be doing

• Interpreting technical diagrams, schematics and parts catalogues to accurately identify Volkswagen components for customers and service teams

• Sourcing and locating parts from manufacturer databases and inventory management systems to fulfil customer and technician requests

• Providing expert advice to customers and workshop staff regarding correct part specifications, compatibility and availability

• Processing parts orders and ensuring timely delivery coordination with suppliers and internal departments

• Maintaining accurate records of parts requests, orders and inventory levels

• Liaising with service technicians to understand technical requirements and recommend appropriate replacement components

• Utilising Volkswagen parts management systems and technical software to retrieve part numbers and cross-reference information

• Ensuring compliance with Volkswagen parts standards and quality requirements

• Supporting the sales team by providing detailed parts information for customer enquiries

• Contributing to a customer-focused service environment and resolving parts-related issues promptly and professionally

What we're looking for

• Demonstrated experience as a parts interpreter role with Volkswagen or Skoda vehicles

• Comprehensive knowledge of the automotive industry

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical diagrams and parts catalogues

• Strong technical understanding of Volkswagen and Skoda vehicles

• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple requests simultaneously

• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all work tasks

• A customer-focused mindset with a genuine commitment to providing exceptional service

• Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Titan
