Truck Driver Removalist

About the role

Duell's Furniture Removals is seeking a MR/HR Truck Driver / Removalist to join our team on a casual basis. Based in Cavan, SA 5094, this role is fundamental to delivering exceptional service to our customers by safely transporting and handling furniture and household items. As a Truck Driver / Removalist, you will be the face of our company, ensuring that every removal is completed professionally, efficiently and with the utmost care for our clients' belongings. This position offers flexibility typical of casual work, allowing you to balance other commitments whilst contributing to a growing logistics and removals business.

Key responsibilities

1. Operating and safely driving removal trucks of various sizes to transport furniture and household goods to customer destinations

2. Loading, securing and unloading furniture and items in accordance with health and safety standards and company procedures

3. Conducting pre and post-journey vehicle inspections to ensure trucks are in safe working order

4. Communicating professionally with customers, addressing their concerns and ensuring their satisfaction throughout the removal process

5. Following planned routes and delivery schedules to ensure timely completion of jobs

6. Maintaining accurate documentation, including delivery notes and job records

7. Adhering to all relevant road safety regulations, company policies and workplace health and safety requirements

8. Assisting with minor vehicle maintenance and reporting any mechanical issues or damages promptly

9. Working collaboratively with other team members to complete removals efficiently and safely

What we're looking for

1. A valid Australian truck licence appropriate for the vehicle categories you will be operating (HR or MR licence Required)

2. Proven experience as a truck driver or removalist, or equivalent experience in road transport or logistics

3. A clean driving record with a commitment to road safety and compliance with traffic regulations

4. Physical fitness and capability to lift, carry and handle heavy furniture and household items regularly

5. Excellent customer service skills and a professional, courteous manner when interacting with clients

6. Strong organisational and time management abilities to manage multiple deliveries and routes efficiently

7. Reliability and flexibility to work on a casual basis, including potential weekend and evening work as required

8. Knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to removals and transport operations

9. A current National Police Certificate (or willingness to obtain one) is required.

10. Experience with furniture handling and packing techniques would be highly valued
