About the role

Showcase Plastics and Displays Pty Ltd is seeking an Entry level Sign Manufacturer/Plastic Fabricator to join our growing team in Narre Warren, VIC. It has been 13 years since a position has come up - as staff tend to stay on. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity for someone keen to develop their skills in the sign manufacturing and plastic fabrication industry. You will be working hands-on with modern equipment and materials, learning from experienced professionals whilst contributing to the creation of high-quality signage and display products for our diverse client base. This role is perfect for someone who is eager to build a career in the trades and is willing to develop technical expertise in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

1. Assisting in the fabrication and assembly of signs and displays using various machines, computers and hand tools. Contributing in the completion of signage products, ensuring quality standards are met

2. Preparing materials and workstations to ensure efficient production workflows

3. Learning and applying safe operating procedures for machinery and equipment used in the manufacturing process. Measuring, cutting and shaping acrylic and other materials according to specifications and design requirements

4. Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the workshop and equipment

5. Following health and safety protocols and reporting any hazards or incidents

6. Assisting senior fabricators with technical tasks and contributing to continuous improvement of processes

7. Quality checking finished products to ensure they meet client specifications and company standards

8. Cleaning, prepping, packing, unloading and loading goods.

What we're looking for

1. Experience not mandatory. Ideal position for an entry level candidate.

2. A person with an even temperament and a personality that matches our team.

3. A keen interest in trades work with a willingness to learn new skills in sign manufacturing and plastic fabrication

4. Attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work

5. Physical capability to perform hands-on work, including lifting/unloading trucks and standing for extended periods

6. Ability to follow instructions and work safely with machinery and equipment

7. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

8. Reliability and punctuality

9. A genuine interest in developing a career in the manufacturing and trades sector

10. Not scared of hard work/can commit to a fulltime week
