About the role

Pedders Suspension and Brakes is seeking a Front of House / Workshop Technician to join our dynamic team in Maroochydore, Queensland. This is a full-time position that combines customer-facing responsibilities with hands-on technical expertise. As a Front of House / Workshop Technician, you will be the vital link between our customers and our workshop operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery whilst maintaining the highest standards of technical workmanship. This role is central to our reputation for quality service and customer satisfaction, and offers the opportunity to work with both people and advanced automotive systems on a daily basis.

Key responsibilities

1. Greeting and welcoming customers in a professional and friendly manner, answering enquiries about suspension and braking services

2. Taking accurate job details and documenting customer requirements for workshop staff

3. Providing quotations and explaining repair options and costs to customers in clear, jargon-free language

4. Coordinating workshop scheduling to ensure timely service delivery and customer communication

5. Performing technical diagnostics and repairs on suspension and braking systems with precision and attention to detail

6. Conducting vehicle inspections and identifying potential issues for customer notification

7. Maintaining workshop equipment and tools in safe, clean and organised condition

8. Following all safety protocols and adhering to manufacturer specifications during repairs

9. Processing customer payments and managing paperwork accurately

10. Supporting the team to achieve sales targets and maintain customer satisfaction levels

11. Keeping up to date with the latest suspension and braking technologies and industry best practices

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience as a suspension and braking technician or in a similar automotive technical role

2. Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a suspension and braking technician is required

3. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with diverse customers

4. Proficiency in suspension and braking system repair, installation and maintenance

5. Knowledge of diagnostic equipment and tools used in the automotive industry

6. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment

7. Excellent organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities

8. Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship

9. Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation

10. Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to customer queries

11. Relevant automotive qualifications or certifications (preferred but not essential if you have substantial practical experience)

12. Substantial practical experience is defined as a minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in automotive technical work

13. Familiarity with automotive computer systems and diagnostic software (desirable)
