About the role

Jensen Painting pty ltd is seeking a skilled Painter to join our team in Toowoomba, QLD. This is a casual position offering flexibility and variety in work. As a Painter, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality painting services to our clients, working on residential and commercial projects. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence and ensuring client satisfaction across all project types.

What you'll be doing

1. Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling as required before painting commences

2. Applying paint, varnish, and other finishing coatings using appropriate techniques and tools

3. Selecting and mixing paints to achieve the desired colour and finish

4. Protecting surrounding areas and fixtures from paint splatter and damage using drop sheets and masking tape

5. Operating and maintaining painting equipment and tools in safe working condition

6. Following health and safety regulations and site-specific requirements

7. Inspecting completed work to ensure quality standards are met

8. Communicating with supervisors and clients regarding project progress and any issues that arise

9. Clearing work areas and disposing of waste materials appropriately

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience as a Painter or similar painting role in the trades industry

2. Sound knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing methods

3. Ability to read and interpret specifications, plans, and colour samples accurately

4. Competency with painting tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and safety gear

5. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

6. Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions

7. Reliability and punctuality, particularly important for casual work arrangements

8. A current valid driver's licence is desirable

9. White Card or equivalent health and safety certification is preferred

10. Excellent communication and customer service skills
