Workshop Manager

About the role

Shubh Motor Group is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to join our team at our Truganina location in Victoria. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to lead and manage all aspects of our automotive workshop operations. As Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the workshop, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role is crucial to the success of our business, as you will be instrumental in maintaining our reputation for excellence in the automotive trades industry.

Key responsibilities

1. Oversee all workshop operations, including scheduling, workflow management and resource allocation

2. Manage and supervise a team of automotive technicians and workshop staff, providing guidance, training and performance feedback

3. Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations, industry standards and company policies

4. Monitor the quality of work performed and conduct regular inspections to maintain high standards

5. Manage inventory of tools, equipment and spare parts, ensuring adequate stock levels and cost-effective procurement

6. Maintain accurate records of all workshop activities, including job cards, maintenance logs and service records

7. Liaise with customers to discuss vehicle repairs, timelines and any additional work required

8. Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner

9. Prepare reports on workshop performance, including productivity metrics, costs and revenue

10. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to increase efficiency and profitability

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience working as a Workshop Manager or in a similar supervisory role within the automotive trades industry

2. Strong knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance procedures, including diagnostics and servicing

3. Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff

4. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, control costs and improve profitability

5. Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks

6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with staff and customers

7. Sound understanding of health and safety regulations and workplace compliance requirements

8. Problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure

9. Computer literacy and experience with workshop management software is advantageous

10. Current driver's licence and willingness to undertake professional development and training as required
