Maintenance Carpenter | Run Your Own Division | Insurance & Commercial Works
Gorilla Construction WA | Perth, WA | Full-Time
Gorilla Construction WA is looking for a switched-on Maintenance Carpenter who wants more than just another job.
This role is for someone who can take ownership, work independently, manage clients, solve problems on site, and help build a maintenance division inside a growing construction company.
You will be trusted to run your own jobs from start to finish, including communication, scheduling, site works, quality control, and final sign-off.
About Gorilla Construction WA
Gorilla Construction WA is a registered Perth builder delivering residential, commercial, insurance, and maintenance construction works.
We are growing quickly and building a team around reliability, high standards, accountability, and strong workmanship. We do not want clock-watchers. We want people who take pride in the job, back themselves, and want to grow with the company.
The Role
You will help run our maintenance and insurance repair division, completing small to medium repair works across residential, insurance, and commercial sites.
This role suits a qualified carpenter who is confident dealing with clients, working through problems, and getting jobs completed properly without needing someone standing over them.
Your work may include:
Insurance make-safe and repair works after storm, water, impact, or accidental damage
Reinstatement works including doors, skirting, framing, sheeting, cabinetry repairs, flooring, and general carpentry
Commercial maintenance across shops, offices, retail, and business premises
Site inspections, scoping, and quoting smaller jobs
Booking and scheduling works
Coordinating trades and materials where required
Keeping clients, insurers, and the office updated
Quality checking and signing off completed works
When larger residential or commercial projects require support, you may also assist across those jobs. The work is varied, fast-moving, and suited to someone who enjoys responsibility.
What You Need
Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent qualification
Strong experience in maintenance, insurance repairs, or renovation-style works
Own reliable ute and full tool kit
Ability to work unsupervised and manage your own schedule
Strong communication skills with clients, trades, and office staff
High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Current WA driver’s licence
White Card
Bonus Points
National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one
Working at Heights ticket
EWP ticket
Experience dealing with insurance builders, loss adjusters, or make-safe works
Ability to quote and scope small works confidently
What’s In It For You
Genuine autonomy and ownership of your own division
Opportunity to grow with a fast-moving registered building company
Variety across insurance, commercial maintenance, and construction works
Supportive team with strong systems behind you
Competitive pay based on experience and capability
Long-term opportunity for the right person to step into a bigger leadership role
Who This Will Suit
This role will suit someone who wants responsibility, not excuses.
You may be an experienced carpenter who is tired of being boxed in, or someone already doing maintenance and insurance work who wants the backing of a proper builder with room to grow.
If you are reliable, organised, good with people, and take ownership of your work, this could be a strong fit.
How to Apply
Send through your resume and a short message outlining your experience.
Tell us what type of work you have been doing, what you are strongest at, and why running your own maintenance division interests you.
If you have the tools, the trade, and the drive, we want to hear from you.
