Mechanical Tradesperson

About the role

This is a full time opportunity located at Stanwell Power Station.

The purpose of this role is to provide mechanical support and input to the operation and maintenance of Power Station plant, assisting in the longer term management of plant assets and undertaking plant improvements. Mechanical Tradespersons are required to perform routine and breakdown maintenance and coordinate work party activities in accordance with Stanwell’s safe system of work.

Key activities include:

• Perform routine and breakdown maintenance on plant equipment
• Coordinate work parties and ensure safe work practices
• Investigate faults and plan corrective maintenance activities
• Support plant improvements and commissioning of modifications
• Mentor apprentices and contribute to team meetings

About you

• Mechanical Trade Certificate with experience in machining and manual driver licence (C Class)
• Experienced in power station or heavy industry maintenance
• Skilled in fault finding, planning and safe work coordination
• Knowledge of high pressure steam plant and experience in the maintenance and operation of high pressure/temperature valves, pipework and soot blowing equipment (desirable)
• Strong communicator and team contributor
