Diesel Fitter – Workshop & Field Service

Bajara Plant Hire is seeking an experienced Diesel Fitter / Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our growing team in Brisbane.

This role is primarily workshop-based, with field service work across Brisbane, Greater Brisbane and remote, when required. A fully maintained company vehicle will be provided.

You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of civil construction and heavy plant equipment, ensuring machines are operating safely and efficiently across our projects.

The Role

Working from our Brisbane workshop, your responsibilities will include:

• Diagnosing faults and repairing heavy diesel engines and mobile plant

• Servicing and maintaining machinery including excavators, loaders, graders, dozers, dump trucks and support equipment

• Attending breakdowns and performing field repairs when required

• Travelling to projects throughout Brisbane and remote Queensland

• Performing preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing

• Completing job cards and service records

• Ensuring equipment meets safety and compliance standards

• Working with the operations team to keep plant running efficiently

What We're Looking For

• Trade qualification in Diesel Fitting or Heavy Vehicle Mechanics

• Minimum 4+ years' experience working on heavy diesel machinery

• Current Class C Driver's Licence (mandatory)

• Experience with civil or earthmoving equipment (mandatory)

• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

• Ability to work independently and manage jobs efficiently

• Commitment to high safety standards
