About the Role

As our next Boilermaker, you will be responsible for the fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of chutes, pipework, and other general steelwork. The role involves interpreting engineering drawings, working with a range of hand and power tools, and performing welding and cutting to high-quality standards.

This position will see you working both in the workshop and onsite, contributing to the efficient operation of plant and equipment while ensuring the safety and reliability of all works performed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, assemble, and install metal structures, components, and equipment according to engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Perform welding, cutting, and brazing using various techniques and equipment.

  • Conduct inspections, routine maintenance, and repairs on fixed plant machinery.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.

  • Collaborate with the maintenance team and departmental staff to prioritize tasks and coordinate schedules.

  • Maintain accurate records of all works performed.

  • Adhere to safety protocols at all times, ensuring a safe workplace for yourself and your colleagues

Qualifications, Sills & Experience

  • Relevant Metal Fabrication or similar AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV, or at least three years of relevant experience in lieu of a formal qualification

  • Minimum 12 months proven experience in fabrication, welding, and plant maintenance.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.

  • A team player with strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Safety, Health & Environment awareness and commitment.

  • Flexibility and willingness to work across different sites as required.
