Job Opportunities | Motor Mechanic & Workshop Manager (Full-Time)

YY Auto is currently seeking experienced automotive professionals to join our team at our Camberwell workshop in Melbourne.

We are a growing workshop specialising in European, Japanese, and Korean vehicles, as well as light vehicles and electric/hybrid vehicles (EVs).
We offer a modern, well-equipped workshop environment and a strong team culture. Full uniform is provided.


Position 1: Motor Mechanic / Automotive Technician

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine servicing and maintenance on European, Japanese, and Korean vehicles

  • Carry out diagnostics, fault finding, and mechanical/electrical repairs

  • Basic maintenance and repair work on electric and hybrid vehicles (EVs)

  • Ensure customer vehicles are handled with care and kept clean

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment

  • Work across a wide range of vehicle brands and technologies

  • Support general workshop operations as required

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Light Vehicle Mechanic

  • Certificate III in Automotive (Mechanical – Light Vehicle)

  • Valid Australian driver’s licence

  • Strong mechanical and tyre knowledge

  • Roadworthy Licence (preferred)

  • Air Conditioning Licence (preferred)

  • Positive attitude with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment


Position 2: Workshop Manager (Camberwell)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the Camberwell workshop

  • Manage and support technicians and workflow allocation

  • Ensure high-quality servicing and repair standards

  • Communicate with customers regarding diagnostics, repairs, and timelines

  • Maintain workshop efficiency, productivity, and organisation

  • Assist with quoting, job scheduling, and parts coordination

  • Drive team performance and workshop growth

Requirements

  • Proven experience in automotive workshop management or senior mechanic role

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Solid technical knowledge of light vehicles (European experience highly regarded)

  • Experience working with Japanese, Korean, and/or EV vehicles is an advantage

  • Ability to manage workflow and meet deadlines

  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills

  • Organised, reliable, and professional attitude
