MECHANICAL FITTER APPPRENTICE (2nd or 3rd year)

We have sought after positions for a Mechanical Fitter apprentice to join with an indusutry leading client based in Acacia Ridge. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a crucial role in the manufacture and repair of industrial machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and productivity. This is a full-time position offering competitive remuneration and opportunities for ongoing career development.

What you'll be doing

  • Manufacturing, repairs, and overhauls on a variety of specialised industrial machinery and equipment for the mining and civil construction trade

  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to diagnose and troubleshoot issues

  • Fitting, inspecting, and reassembling machinery, replacing worn or defective parts as required

  • Performing precision fitouts alignments to ensure equipment meets manufacturer specifications

  • Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to implement efficient maintenance strategies

  • Adhering to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations

  • Providing on-the-job training and mentoring to apprentices as required

What we're looking for

  • Current enrolment in a Mechanical Fitting apprenticeship or industry experience

  • Trade assistants with relevant experience are encouraged to apply and will be fast tracked to formal qulification as a mechanical fitter through a combination of recognition of prior learning(RPL) and flexible college options

  • Experience in the build and repair of industrial machinery, including hydraulic, pneumatic, 24 volt electrical componenets and mechanical systems wil be highly regarded

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to diagnose and resolve equipment issues

  • Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail to perform precision work

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on safety and quality

  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders
