About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, repair, and inspection of trailers and transport equipment to ensure they remain safe, compliant, and operational.

As a key member of our team, you will deliver high-quality workmanship, maintain customer satisfaction, and support workshop productivity while strictly adhering to all workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Servicing & Maintenance: Perform routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and inspections on trailers and transport equipment. Conduct roadworthy and safety inspections where required.
  • Fault Finding & Repairs: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair faults across trailer braking, suspension, axle, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Complete component replacements and modifications efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Workshop Operations: Accurately complete job cards, service records, and repair documentation. Help meet customer deadlines and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe condition.
  • Safety First: Follow all company safety policies. Take responsibility for your own physical and psychological safety and that of others by promptly reporting hazards, incidents, and near misses.
Key Selection Criteria
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Qualifications: A trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Trailer Mechanic, Automotive Mechanic, or equivalent.
  • Experience: Proven experience servicing and repairing trailers, heavy vehicles, or transport equipment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of trailer braking systems, suspension, axles, hydraulics, and electrical components, alongside demonstrated diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Capabilities: The ability to read and interpret technical documentation, strong attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Teamwork: A collaborative attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • WHS Commitment: A strong dedication to workplace health and safety.
What’s on Offer
  • Employment Type: Permanent full-time position
  • Schedule: 10 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday
  • Hourly Rate: $44 - $46 depending on experience plus tool allowance
