Mechanical Trades Assistant

Iceman Group of Companies offers over 40 years’ experience in servicing the transport industry. Within Iceman Group of Companies, Transport Innovators is responsible for the servicing and repairs of transport trailers. 

We are looking for a Trades Assistant to join our operations in our Murarrie Workshop. Working both by yourself and with the team, you will be assisting in the servicing and repairs of our customers trailers and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Completing Trailer and Truck Servicing

• Diagnosing Trailer and Truck concerns and completing the relevant repairs

• Working to deadlines autonomously and with a team member

• Using your problem-solving skills to solve any issues that arise

• Sharing knowledge and engaging in the continuous learning with other staff

• Work independently once tasks are understood

• Assist in stores and storage areas as required

About You

• Mechanically minded with a strong interest in vehicles

• Must hold a current, unrestricted manual driver’s licence

• Comfortable using hand tools and carrying out light mechanical tasks

• Able to work unsupervised once trained

• Reliable, practical, and willing to help where needed

• Forklift licence, HR licence and/or MR licence advantageous but not essential
