Doolee is a leading civil construction company operating across Australia, with offices in WA and NSW, delivering complex, high-quality infrastructure projects across a diverse range of sectors. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team and contribute to the success of our projects.

Position Overview

As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a wide range of plant and equipment across multiple sites. You will play a key role in ensuring machinery operates safely, efficiently and in line with project demands, while contributing to high-quality outcomes across our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine plant inspections and maintenance across all sites.

  • Interpret detailed drawings and specifications to determine job, material and equipment requirements.

  • Set up, adjust and operate metalworking machines and equipment.

  • Manufacture components using machining processes such as turning, milling, drilling, grinding and shaping.

  • Fit and assemble metal parts, tools and sub-assemblies, including welding and brazing where required.

  • Cut, thread, bend and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.

  • Diagnose faults, dismantle equipment and repair or replace defective components.

  • Operate hand tools, welding equipment and CNC machines where applicable.

  • Inspect and ensure accuracy and quality of finished parts and assemblies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant trade qualifications and certifications in Heavy Duty Mechanics or Diesel Motor Mechanics.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.

  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Valid Manual C-Class Driver’s Licence.

  • Construction White Card.

  • Air-conditioning certification or additional plant tickets (advantageous).

  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.
