We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our dynamic and collaborative team based in Melbourne. This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator looking to further develop their career with a respected builder, or for someone currently working in a quantity surveying practice who is looking to transition into a main contractor environment.

About the Role

As an integral member of our pre-construction team, you will be responsible for managing the estimating process from tender receipt through to submission, while working closely with management, clients, consultants and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Selection of subcontractors and issuing tender packages

• Attending tender briefings and site inspections

• Obtaining competitive supplier and subcontractor pricing

• Quantity take-offs and preparation of bills of quantities

• Preparation of trade scopes and tender documentation

• Managing requests for information and tender clarifications

• Following up subcontractor pricing to meet tender deadlines

• Reviewing and analysing quotations received

• Preparing tender submissions and supporting documentation

• Participating in tender review meetings with senior management

• Preparing concept-stage cost plans and feasibility budgets

• Assisting with variation pricing and cost reporting

• Providing pricing support to project teams during delivery

• Undertaking value management and cost-saving exercises

• Mentoring and supporting junior estimating staff

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Experience working as an Estimator within the Australian construction industry

• Strong ability to interpret architectural, structural and services documentation

• Experience across two or more of the following sectors:

  • Commercial

  • Education

  • Industrial

  • Hospitality

  • Retail

  • High-End Residential

  • Automotive / Dealerships

• Strong analytical and commercial skills

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

• The ability to work autonomously while contributing to a team environment

• Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline
