We are seeking a skilled Contracts Administrator to join our team, who will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and administering electrical project contracts from award through to completion. The role ensures all contractual obligations are met, documentation is accurate, and project delivery aligns with commercial, legal, and technical requirements within the electrical services environment for a major Electrical Design & Construct project based in Western Sydney.

This is a key role working on a large-scale project scheduled to run for several years, offering long-term stability and the opportunity to play a significant role in a high-profile delivery.

This position is suited to a driven professional with experience in electrical construction project delivery, who thrives in complex project environments and takes pride in delivering high-quality outcomes.

You will be responsible for managing the documentation and commercial outcomes of the project, ensuring it is delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.

 About the Role

The Contracts Administrator will assist the project manager, with planning, coordination, documentation & commercial control of the general project scope in a professional, productive, and strategically minded manner. You will lead by example, demonstrate a positive and professional attitude in all environments, and operate with integrity while ensuring project scope, costs, and delivery objectives are effectively managed.

  Key Responsibilities

  •  Administer and manage electrical contracts from inception to close-out

  • Review contract terms and conditions, ensuring compliance with company policies and project requirements

  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, estimators, suppliers, and subcontractors to support contract execution

  • Prepare, process, and maintain all contractual documentation including variations, purchase orders, and claims

  • Track project milestones, deliverables, progress claims, and contract variations

  • Assist in preparation and submission of progress claims and invoices in line with contract requirements

  • Monitor contract performance, identifying risks, delays, and cost implications

  • Support negotiation of subcontractor and supplier agreements specific to electrical works

  • Maintain accurate contract records, registers, and reporting systems

  • Ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards, safety regulations, and industry codes

  • Assist with dispute resolution and contractual issue management where required

  • Support project teams with interpretation of contractual obligations and scope clarity

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of contract administration processes

 Skills & Experience

 The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  •  Experience in contract administration within the electrical & construction industry

  • Understanding of electrical project delivery processes and terminology

  • Strong knowledge of contract principles and construction contracts

  • Excellent attention to detail and document control skills

  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities

  • Ability to manage competing priorities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively lead project teams

  • Ability to adapt and work effectively within an established company structure.

 Technical Requirements

  •  Strong understanding of electrical construction project delivery processes

  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and technical documents

  • Experience managing subcontractor and supplier agreements, variations, and purchase orders

  • Competence in preparing and assessing progress claims, invoices, and cost reports

  • Strong proficiency in contract management systems and document control platforms

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (cost tracking, reporting, reconciliations, forecasting)

  • Ability to track budgets, cost variations, and project financial performance

  • Understanding of project scheduling concepts and milestone tracking

  • Familiarity with compliance requirements including WHS and relevant industry standards

  • Experience with procurement processes and supply chain coordination

  • Ability to analyse and reconcile contract variations, claims, and back charges

  • Competence in maintaining accurate contract registers, RFIs, and project correspondence

  • Driver’s Licence (essential)

  • Experience with Simpro (desirable but not essential)
