The Role:

The Supervisor Facility Services is responsible for leading and managing the City of Bayswater’s cleaning team to ensure all City facilities are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and presentation. The role oversees day-to-day cleaning operations, staff resourcing, stockholdings, rostering, recruitment, and performance, while fostering a positive and inclusive team culture aligned with the City’s values.

It coordinates the maintenance, servicing, and replacement of cleaning and facility equipment to ensure safe operation, minimise downtime, and extend asset life.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, the position ensures compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, procurement policies, and service delivery standards, while supporting broader asset maintenance activities across community buildings.

About you:

The successful applicant will demonstrate strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to supervise, motivate, and develop a diverse team while fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

They will have well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with staff, internal stakeholders, contractors, and the public, along with sound administrative capability to manage rostering, recruitment, scheduling, and reporting requirements.

The role requires strong organisational and problem-solving skills, the ability to balance competing priorities, and a proactive approach to improving service delivery. A solid understanding of workplace health and safety, compliance, and asset care is essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively, show initiative, adapt to change, and lead by example in line with organisational values.
