About the role

ETS holds contracts for vegetation clearance for transmission lines and substations across QLD working for our client Powerlink based out of Townsville and Cairns depot. We are currently seeking to expand our team by recruiting new crew members to fill the following positions:

  • Ground Crews (skilled in ground-based tree felling)

  • Herbicide Application

Away work is required with these roles– in this instance a generous Living Away from Home Allowance (LAHA) will be provided. 

You’re safety-focused, physically fit, and love working outdoors. A positive, team-player attitude is essential. You’re confident with machinery and ready to take on all tree crew tasks, including ground works, chipper operation EWP work or using our specialised machines.


 About you:

  • Highly safety conscious

  • Physically fit & healthy, and love the great outdoors

  • Highly motivated, with a positive attitude & able to work as part of a team

  • Confident around machinery and willing to undertake all roles in a tree crew including Climbing, Chipper Operation, Ground clearing, Brush cutting and cutting from an EWP.

  • Happy to live away from home on a roster basis

  • Team player and show initiative


Skills & Qualifications:

  • General Construction Safety White Card – Essential

  • Heavy Vehicle Truck licence (HR or MR) – Essential

  • ACDC licence – highly regarded

  • Chainsaw operation -highly regarded

  • EWP licence – highly regarded

  • Experience in fire mitigation would be favoured (not essential)

Previous industry experience is desired for these roles.

  • Competitive hourly rate $40per hour + 12% Super

  • Fortnightly RDO

  • Away work is required. When working away from home, employees will receive a generous Living Away from Home Allowance (LAHA) of $250 per day.

  • Uniform, PPE and all tools provided
